Dr. Rief-Elks is a graduate of the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her residency at Siouxland Medical Education Foundation in family medicine in 2006.. She is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. After completion of her residency, Dr. Rief-Elks practiced in Onawa, Iowa until she joined the faculty at the Siouxland Medical Education Foundation in 2009. She holds appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

She practices full spectrum family medicine and has a particular interest in preventative medicine. Dr. Rief-Elks truly enjoys getting to know her patients and their entire family while she helps them achieve their personal health and wellness goals. In her free time, she likes to “practice what she preaches” by getting outside and being active with her husband and two sons.
